Some people are hesitant when it comes to online dating, and having to post their photo for the whole world to see is even more nerve-wracking. I once objected to posting my own photo online for whatever reason. I think I ease up a bit now. But I do understand if you feel apprehensive about posting your photo. So please let me share with you about the benefits that you may gain from it.
First your photo can translate to confidence. Even if you think you’re ugly, you’re not afraid to show your true self. Let the audience judge you for themselves. Don’t assume that people won’t like you if they see your face. Plus posting your picture next to your profile increases your chance of finding someone who is equally truthful. Decent people want to see the real you and your confidence.
Second, some people may like a bit of mystery of not knowing what the person looks like, but not many people are fond of it. Once I read an interesting profile of someone online, only to spend the next week or two pondering what that person looks like. Once I finally saw the picture, I let out a sigh because of the anticipation of what that person would look like weighed on my heart. I was definitely glad to see his picture. He was definitely not a Brad Pitt, but decent. Looking decent can be more attractive when coupled with an interesting profile.
