Oftentimes people write a full-page of their profile on dating websites, when the essence of what they say can be summed up in one or two lines. Remember the stuff you learn your boring high school English classes. They actually work. Things like be specific and avoid vague adjectives can come in handy when it comes to write your online dating profile. Most people say things like “I’m intelligent, successful and romantic.” These qualities do not tell me much about this person. Abstract words make you seem impersonal. The trick is to think of something unique about you and give lots of details. Details will make our profile believable, interesting, and effective.
Instead of saying “I’m adventurous,” tell us about your mountain climbing in Nepal or the trip to the Amazon and down the river. Instead of saying “I love to cook,” describe the baked salmon that you made for your company’s party that made everybody asking for me. Tell us some ingredients. Again, give us details. Let us see that you are a passionate person and that you live life with a purpose. Passionate people are inevitable attractive. Now, if you do not feel like you are passionate at anything, don’t give up just yet. Find something that you have always wanted to learn. Pick up a hobby. Take a dance class. Also adding a sense of humor in your body text won’t hurt, but make sure that it comes natural. Don’t force it or be corny. People can pick up stuff like that pretty easily.
